Lawrence dreaded the day of Adam’s funeral. It came too soon. There were only a handful of people in attendance, including himself. It made Lawrence want to scream at the world. How could a person like Adam be left behind like that? He hadn’t even known him that long, but in the time they shared together, as miserable and terrifying as it was, he found himself growing attached to the younger man. He was charming. Weird, but charming. He will remember him fondly, he thinks.

Vash knew he had been looking at the catalog rack for longer than what was probably normal. He knew he had hot food in the bag he was carrying that needed to be taken up to his and Wolfwood’s room so they could eat a proper meal for the first time in days.
But this stupid catalog caught his attention, it was holding his attention hostage at this point. It had an artist’s rendition of a rustic log cabin on the cover, the cozy-looking building surrounded by bright green grass, pine trees, water, sunlight that didn’t look overbearing, hummingbirds and bees. It was somewhere Vash would like to live.

It never really occurred to Wolfwood that Vash might possibly be shorter than him. When they stood next to each other, they were eye to eye, and when they had their shoes off to go to bed, Wolfwood was either too tired to take notice of their actual height difference, or one of them was already in bed before the other.
But tonight, Vash took off his ridiculously buckled boots as soon as they entered their room for the night.

Staying at inns was one of Vash’s favorite things, even though it usually made his wallet lighter than he’d prefer it to be. He got food, drinks, a hot shower, and a comfy bed typically. But during this particular stay at an inn, he was even more happy about it than usual, so his wallet be damned. He was sharing a room with Wolfwood this time, which wasn’t unusual. But it wasn’t just a room they were sharing, but also a bed.
