while I often say that it's impossible for me to pick the order of my top 5 queliot fics, more often than not this one gets the top spot. maybe it's bolstered by the precise time that I discovered it - several chapters in but with several still to go made for perfect building of anticipation. more than once when I got the update notification in my email I exclaimed out loud in excitement (including, at least once, on the subway, to which I certainly got some looks). an absolutely thrilling, suspenseful, delightful, in-character and thorough, angsty and joyful read. worth every minute I waited for that finale.

One of my favorite queliot fics out there. (sometimes I try to rank my top fics but I keep switching them around - suffice it to say that this is in the top 5.) I fell in love with this fic shortly after that fucking finale and I occasionally have to come back and reread because I just need it in my life again. an absolutely stunning exploration of Quentin and his relationships.

Eliot shook his head, still not quite used to the way his hair curled below his chin, now, since he hadn’t been around to keep it properly groomed for the last-- however long it had been. God, he hadn’t even bothered to ask.
“You get my deep, dark, never-told secret, and I get the opportunity to try and Orpheus-and-Eurydice Q the fuck out of this place,” he said, cutting through Penny’s bureaucratic power-trip. “I got it the first twelve times.”
“I would strongly advise--”
“I’m ready.”
The corners of Penny’s mouth went up, but it would have been a stretch to call the expression a smile. “No, you’re really not."
The Monster's been defeated, Quentin is dead, and Eliot has a quest of his own--if he can trust himself to complete it. An Orpheus and Eurydice remix.

You start dying, slowly and painfully, and you also get the knowledge that if you weren't such a dickhead and you had true love in your life, you'd be totally fine."
Q gets cursed, and Alice can't help. Magic forces Q and Eliot to cuddle and talk about their feelings.
