Melchior soon finished giggling, looking back over and smiling at his friend.
“Mo, I do all these things because I love you, okay?” Moritz was even more red now. Huh? Melchior sighed, taking another breath of smoke. “I want you to succeed, I want to feed you, I want to be your friend because I love you. Love doesn’t need to be transactional, I don’t need anything in return, but you do return my favors.” Moritz scooted closer, his chest pressed against Melchior’s arm and side.

They thought Jason would be able to figure something out, but he had to swear not to tell anyone. Leo's death couldn't be interfered with. Jason decides on writing a note to Leo, which he should, hopefully, open once he's safe and... alive.
