Summary
Aziraphale would lay awake in his new corporation, trying to remember back, back, back. Had there been a shock of red and black, and golden eyes, wide and terrified? Would Aziraphale have been able to recognize him Before at all? Could Aziraphale ever know for sure?
Had it been Crawly’s blood sizzling on his flaming blade?
Aziraphale tries to shoulder the burden of his trauma and guilt for the role he played in the War in Heaven. Luckily, honesty and softness can fix most things.

Summary
A few days later, Crowley found himself alone in the bookshop. Alone and bored. And wasn’t that a recipe for trouble?
Aziraphale had popped out to procure something to tempt the demon’s picky palette. “No, no, Crowley, dear. I insist. I do wish you’d let me wait on you for a change. Two shakes of a lamb’s tail, my love!” and he had been off.
…Little by little, Crowley began to feel a curious itching under his ribs. An odd pull that was like a crooked finger and a mischievous grin.
Or: Aziraphale is a pretty magpie who likes to decorate his nest with Crowley memorabilia. Crowley finds out. -

Summary
But even with his newfound freedom, Crowley found it difficult to show the soft underbelly of his heart to the wider world. The part that wanted to be caressed and held and have “forever” whispered passionately into his ears.
Or an illustration of the old adage “never judge a book by its cover”.

Summary
Aziraphale was all patience, all praise, all reassurance. Coaxing Crowley out from the cage of his own defences with gentle fingers and adoring eyes.
And, settled in now to the quiet melody of their retirement, the angel became more unguarded, more easy with himself, too. Aziraphale’s nature couldn't help but shine through eons of self-doubt, of imposed restraint. What Crowley had always maintained was still true as ever, and Aziraphale began, inch by inch, to let his wicked side wander on occasion. Delightful and delicious and decadent. Relieved, Crowley often thought, not to have to be Good.
Or Aziraphale learns that being a wee bit of a bastard is a lovely thing indeed.

Summary
No more plain gazes. No more open looks. Now Aziraphale would have to learn to read the arch of his brows, the set of his shoulders, the tightness lingering near his temples, the quirk of his rarely-smiling mouth...
Aziraphale longed after those eyes. Hungered for them and missed them like he missed wearing his wings out in the open air. He grieved over their hiddenness.
Or, Once he's free to do so, Aziraphale makes it his mission to catch glimpses of Crowley's lovely eyes.

Summary
Crowley moans behind closed lips, an honest-to-God full body shiver breaking through him. The angel’s burning eyes pin him down, stronger than any heavenly rope.
He should ask what’s going on. He should open his mouth and tell Aziraphale this is all well and good (very good) but this is not the time for this kind of thing. He should.
Instead, when he’s able to focus his snake eyes on the angel again, he licks his lips and says, “Do it again.”~~~
Crowley has three things no other demon has: an imagination, an issue to solve, and a very indulgent angel.

Summary
Aziraphale knew how humans whispered to each other - don’t let the sun go down on you there, they’d say of an unfamiliar town, it’s dangerous. You never know what might happen. But it went the other way, too. For him. Be careful where you are when the sun rises. Be careful what someone else might see.
Aziraphale is not scared of the dark nearly as much as he is scared of love, and the dark makes a lovely place to hide.

Summary
Written for this Tadfield Advertiser prompt: Crowley finally gets Aziraphale to take the damn smartphone, angel, and Aziraphale knows vaguely that he can send brief messages and photos to Crowley. And SOMEHOW it never occured to Crowley that Aziraphale would find out about sending nudes nor think of such a thing himself. So when he starts getting some very ~tasteful~ (and frequent) naked selfies from the angel he just about loses the ability to control all his limbs.
