"I don't like it," Flins murmured to the apha's skin.
"Hmm?"
"Not being able to smell you," he wanted to curl his fingers into a fist to overcome the sudden rush of embarrassment, but he didn't. Nonchalant in nature, he spoke like it was natural for him to disclose his feelings this easily. "I like your scent.”
"I know." A small purr rumbled in the alpha's chest, his hand on Flins's hair didn't stop combing it.
Did he, really? Was Flins that futile in his endeavor to sweep every emotion under the rug?
Flins didn't make any requests of him. He never tried to ask anything of him. He took whatever Varka gave him and learned to be content with it. And to be fair, Varka gave him everything.
Except for one thing.

Flins is in love, and he wants that mating bite on his neck. But all he does is wonder if Varka feels the same about him as he touches the fae's skin in the most indecent way every time he comes back to him.

There were very few humans who wanted to see Flins again. The circumstances under which one could meet the lightkeeper were traumatic for many so it made sense that nobody wanted to see him that often out in the wild zone.
Everybody was nice to him when he went to town for his little shopping sprees, so it was fine enough.
"I'm sorry, but my schedule is full for the week."
"I heard nobody lives in that cemetery of yours. What, you have meetings with ghosts?"
He couldn’t hide the grin on his face. "Exactly. Feel free to drop by if you like ghost stories."
"I wouldn’t mind 'em."
"Then you know where to find me. Have a good night, Captain."
Or; Flins and Varka keep getting their paths crossed. And who could blame them if they fall in love somewhere along the lines?

He studies his face with a strange intensity, as though Childe were a piece of high quality Nocticulous Jade being sold for suspiciously small sum and he's trying to find the blemishes that would explain the price. The weight of his gaze should be uncomfortable, boring into him like he can see into the very depths of his abyss-tainted soul, but Childe finds himself preening under the attention instead.
Childe accidentally proposes to Zhongli. Zhongli accepts.
