Summary
"Father, why does anyone hurt?" He was back in that hospital room, with the stranger at the heel of his bed. Fleetingly, Jeongin hated his clothes.
"And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast."
"And how would you say that in your own words, father?"
"I wouldn't."
Surprised, Jeongin met the priest's eyes as he sat up. "You would not?"
"There's a point in suffering where even eternal bliss doesn't sound long, and a promise of strength only makes you weak."
Jeongin was a devout, and nothing else. Chan was a coward, and nothing else. Together, they learn to be more.

Summary
Jisung had always been the devil's favourite. If you were to ask the local residents, they'd tell you about the BJ days. Short for Before Jisung, of course. The Before Jisung days were exactly how one would picture the devil's office: unbearably high temperatures, endless screaming, and a whole lot of public torture. It was, to be quite literal, hell. It was by far the worst place a soul could get condemned to, as appropriately advertised. Then came the EDGE days, short for Every Day Gets Easier, wherein Jisung's influence bled into hell and diluted its anguish. For starters, it was quite difficult for him to concentrate with all the yelling and appealing for one's life – as if the souls weren't already dead? Naturally, the devil announced a massive reconstruction project with soundproof torture rooms. Later on, the devil announced budget cuts due to the project that led to central heating being turned down in hallways and certain offices. Coincidentally, the hallways and offices which now had adequate temperatures were those frequented by Jisung.
