Summary
It becomes clear, once Morgana has her wrapped up in a blanket in a scarlet armchair and holding a strange-smelling mug, that something did not go the way it was supposed to. Morgana keeps pacing and saying, “The spell wasn’t even about you, I just don’t know how this happened,” and Gosalyn thinks that maybe she herself isn’t the one who needs to be coddled and calmed down.
Morgana continues to be difficult to understand, and bizarrely emotional; she just keeps saying, “We lost you, Gosling, we thought we lost you,” over and over.
“I don’t understand what’s going on,” Gosalyn says, muffled, into the neck of Morgana’s gown. “Can someone please tell me what’s happening.”
“I must have been thinking about you,” Morgana replies. It’s spoken as though it’s a response to the question, but in actuality it answers nothing. She lets go of Gosalyn and kneels next to the chair, clasping Gosalyn’s hands around the mug. “I let my mind wander, and I accidentally brought you home.”Bookmarked by burnishedphantom
