How could he have lived for so long without seeing this side of Geralt?
Never before has Jaskier seen him so laid back, so happy in his own skin and comfortable enough with his surroundings to act like this. It’s refreshing and heartwarming in a way Jaskier never expected when he first arrived at the Keep.
“Geralt!” Jaskier playfully admonishes in faux astonishment as he swats at the larger man’s chest. “You didn’t tell me you’re a poet! I could have been helping you with your songs for so long!”
“Oh my god no, no more songs!” Lambert shrieks before his voice finally patters off as he moves further into the castle to escape Jaskier’s composing.
Oh well. His loss.

Summary
Roach carries her owner and his daughter over precarious terrain day in and day out, pushing herself well beyond her limits as she senses the mess of emotions coming from Geralt. There truly is no time to waste; not this far in the Blue Mountains, where human lives become scarce and merciless wildlife has taken over.
The journey is as long and tiring as it always is, though now Geralt has Cirilla and his thoughts to keep him company through the mountain passes.
And boy, do they ever.
“I can’t believe you,” Cirilla continues to berate him for the snippets of the conversation she overheard between her two guardians back at their campsite, “Why did you treat him like that? I love you, Geralt, but that’s just mean.” Geralt can feel the vibrations of her voice against his chest where she leans into him on the saddle.
His heart clenches at her proclamation of love, then quickly twists for a whole new reason when she brings up his treatment of the troubadour.
She isn’t wrong.

Yoshiki could accept that his best friend was no longer his best friend, but merely something else. Something that should be inhumane and wrong and filthy, but it would be his. Yoshiki could cope just fine. As long as Hikaru kept looking at him with those bright eyes and did those stupid impressions and promised to come bother him in Tokyo. As long as he greeted him in the mornings before school and they could continue to text about the newest additions of Master Master and Hikaru promised not to leave.
He didn't care what this version of Hikaru really was. He didn't care. Hikaru's here and he's staying.
Yoshiki would make sure of it.

Hikaru’s eyes dart towards the damp spot in Yoshiki’s shorts. And when he grins, Yoshiki sweats bullets, blood rushing to his cheeks.
“You did that… in there?” Hikaru points to the window, the church bells still ringing in the distance.
“It’s not what you think, I just-”
“Just needed to rub one off?”
The Tsujinakas go to mass to make appearances for one of the local festivals. Feeling uncomfortable in the sacred atmosphere, Yoshiki ends up rubbing himself off as a distraction, coming to the image of Hikaru while kneeling at the church. Ever since then, something's been off. He can't shake away the religious guilt. The fear of hell. The only thing that seemed to help, was pleasing himself to the thought of Hikaru.
