    Summary

Sakura is a totally normal kunoichi. Her morning routine is as follows: she wakes up, develops a panic disorder, argues with a fictionalized version of herself, styles her hair, thinks for too long about Ino, goes blind from competitiveness, sobs after almost stepping on a snail, denies having any feelings about a certain orphaned jerk, and, more frequently as of late, rages against another orphaned menace, this time of the orange jumpsuit variety, and that's all before 6am training. Busy, busy. Then, fate decides to pick up a sledge-hammer and make things even worse.

This is a re-write of Naruto in a way I would have liked to see, given the atrocious plots Sakura was afforded. I like to think of this as 'evening the playing field', giving her a bit of a power boost, so it's more like a trifecta, and not a story of Sasuke vs Naruto (plus the third wheel awkwardly standing in the corner). I also tweak her personality, because there's no way Kishi's selling me an insecure little girl with anger issues who also unabashedly dotes on a boy who rejects her every advance. That ain't real.

I imagine if my entire consciousness had settled any time prior to age four, my squishy little brain would’ve imploded from overload. That said, it’s one hell of a day to wake up and realize oh shit, I’m Ahsoka Tano and life catastrophically sucks.

    Summary

Barty Crouch and Lily Evans have one thing in common, and it's that they really do not like James Potter.

So seven weeks + one (truly over the top) pros and cons list later, the two of them are pretending to date. Something that historically, has never left anyone with real or confusing or complicated feelings. (The risk of developing real or confusing or complicated feelings did not make the list.)

    Summary

Barty Crouch Jr. has a reputation of being a playboy— but he’s actually quite smart. Does the crossword even. He (like most of their year at Hogwarts) finds Lily Evans completely and utterly captivating.

The problem is, James Potter is always after her with performative love confessions, and then there’s Severus Snape, padding after her like a kicked puppy.

Barty, sick of Severus’ whining and Potter’s showboating, makes a bet with Severus: He can get Lily to date him by the Yule Ball.

Lily, sick of stupid boys treating her like a conquest, has actually experienced quite little in terms of romance. She decides to formulate a list: things to experience before graduation (some of them dirty, some of them sweet), and Barty Crouch might be the perfect excuse to check off some boxes.

    Summary

Lily looked at him disbelievingly. “You’re dating a terrorist.”

“He’s not a terrorist,” James said, somehow offended. “He just—has a reputation.”

“Yes, a reputation for terrorism,” Lily said, like James was a bit slow.

James crossed his arms, visibly bristling. “He’s actually very principled.”

“So is every fascist. That’s kind of the problem.”

Or, Lily Evans judges James for his poor taste in men, then goes on to make significantly worse decisions.

Featuring: academic burnout, moral spirals, inconvenient attraction, and the deeply ironic process of falling in love with someone you’d confidently list as a reason the world’s going to hell.

She’s not proud of it. But he is very pretty.
