Summary
Bad days involve getting framed for theft and kicked out of your job, but Hiro’s luck took a turn when she landed in a world where survival means competing in deadly games. But here’s the twist: the real battle isn’t against the deadly trials. It’s surviving the ultimate test of any girl’s life: befriending strangers who are way cooler than you and trying not to have a crush on blonde guys.
And if it means saving her friends, Hiro will become whoever they need her to be.

Summary
The brain can literally switch off morality.
Damage to the orbitofrontal cortex- a region just behind the eyes- has been linked to a loss of guilt, empathy and remorse.
This area plays a critical role in processing social norms, emotional regulation and decision-making. When it’s impaired, individuals may still understand right from wrong intellectually, but they no longer feel it in the same way.
In extreme cases, this disconnect can lead to cold, socially inappropriate or even dangerous behavior.
People with orbitofrontal dysfunction may lie, manipulate or break rules without remorse- not because they’re evil, but because their brain has lost its internal moral compass.
Dear reader, do you trust yourself?
