"Mydei!" Phainon yelps as he flips himself back upright, except it comes out as “Awoo!” instead.
This is humiliating. Mydei is the absolute last person he’d ever want to see him in this weak little body. Phainon skitters backwards, trying to stay out of reach even as Mydei approaches the table.
“Hey, watch—” Mydei grabs at him.
“Awoo?!” SPLASH!
Phainon is underwater. He flails his limbs, trying to figure out how to swim with this unfamiliar body. Something tightens around his rib cage, and he thrashes harder.
As Phainon is lifted from the water, he gasps for breath and starts coughing up the liquid he got in his throat, all while kicking his little legs trying to get some kind of foothold. He finds himself pressed against something solid and warm.
“Shh, shh. It’s okay. Don’t be scared.” Wait, who’s saying that? Mydei? Surely Mydei can’t speak with such a gentle voice… or, even if he could, he wouldn’t in this situation. And what happened to “scared” not existing in the Kremnoan language?!
Phainon gets turned into a chimera. It leads him to learning more about Mydei.

Summary
When he thinks about Lighter, all that comes to mind is the hopelessness of his crush. If he let himself be a little more honest, Wise knew it was a bad idea to keep working with Lighter while he held feelings for the man. That he should have stopped it sooner before he got in too deep, but every time he thinks about finally moving on, Lighter pulls him back in so easily.
Wise knew what he was getting into, knowing he might get hurt in the long run the further they went. Lighter probably didn’t think of him as anything more than a friend and an idol he was taking care of, or maybe just a friendly work relationship at best.
The man was being nice, nothing more.

Wise can’t help from smiling. Work is work so he’s used to a lot of inconveniences—people doing as they like with him, people being rude, people assuming things without his permission—but Lighter’s proving to be a breath of fresh air in such a short amount of time.
He’s not a professional model, but he’s standing out as one of the best coworkers Wise has had so far.
“I like your initiative,” he murmurs, head tilting away from the camera. “Go on, touch me.”
Wise is used to the hardships of modeling, but that doesn't mean he doesn't dislike it when his model partners bail on him.
