There was too much noise surrounding you. Your footsteps, the call from behind you, the haggard breath coming from yourself, the carpet shuffling beneath your feet. It was all too much. You took your hands that were folded over your chest and clasped them around your ears.

Summary
Everyone had been talking loudly, nudging each other, arguing, laughing or in Beel’s case wolfing down all the food in sight. So Mammon’s loud voice shouldn’t have stood out at all but something about the tone had made you hone in instantly.
You’d never seen his eyes look that cold before.
Even when he’d first been assigned as your guardian he had always seemed more weary and annoyed than just… cold. But he was definitely cold now, arms crossed over his chest, face blank and completely still which felt so wildly out of place for the demon who was so fast he could never really stop moving.
