Vi thinks this is hilarious.
This would be a really fluffy and wholesome fic, but unfortunately, somebody is willing to kill to keep the truth buried, so…y’know.

"She stayed downtown?" she repeated, intoning the phrase as if speaking about the day's weather. "How strange. She didn't mention having any pending grading or any meeting with the dean."
"It's just that it wasn't anything university-related," Jayce blurted out with utter casualness, taking a piece of bread. "She went out for drinks. Ahri, the new professor from the Arts department, asked me for her number a few days ago, and apparently, she asked her out. Vi seemed half-surprised when I saw her by the lockers this afternoon, but she accepted. I told her it would do her good to unwind a bit and go out with someone for once."
Jayce, you fucking traitor.
It was instinctively her first thought, unstoppable. A fierce, sour thought, and entirely uncharacteristic of her.
The silence that settled over the dining room was so sudden that the ticking of the wall clock seemed to double in volume.

“When did you start smoking?” Caitlyn asks, brushing the stray crumbs away from her lips. Vi’s not sure if she realizes that she’s leaning further and further into her space.
Her sapphire iris is being completely swallowed up by her pupils, the area around it reddening. She’s a little flushed and her lips look incredibly soft.
“A while after I stopped drinking.”
Caitlyn hums, but she doesn’t lean back satisfied. She keeps staring, her head tilted slightly at Vi as she wipes her mouth a few more times. So proper.
Vi holds the eye contact. Not because she wants to, but because that just seems to be what happens.
“Do you have family around here?”
The question takes a minute to compute since Vi’s a little distracted by the strength of Caitlyn’s nose.
“Something like that.”
Vi should be annoyed. She is, actually.
Her smoke sessions are supposed to be chill, relaxing and quiet. Not lonely, alone. Now Caitlyn’s asking questions she doesn’t really need answers to.
And she’s leaning into Vi’s space like she wants to be there.
“You’re so interesting, Vi.”
Not hot. Not cool. Not sexy.
Interesting.

Summary
Caitlyn Kiramman has it all: the grades, the team, the boy. But her balance between her school and her social life is tipped off-kilter as old feelings for a new girl start to resurface at possibly the worst time ever.
West Piltover Academy seems like a breath of fresh air compared to Violet Harris’ last school- good sports and teachers, simple enough social hierarchy. She just needs to keep her head down and survive Year 13, which is pretty damn difficult when your childhood crush wants to befriend you again.
But it’s harder than it sounds to deal with resurfacing feelings, especially when narrow-minded people lurk around every corner.
