Summary
Scott may have wanted to be popular but stiles had honestly always been ok where he was. He enjoyed making his nerdy jokes and the yearly competition with Lydia Martin for the best grades. He was a pretty solid benchwarmer for the lacrosse team which helped him avoid the ire of most of the meathead jocks from the upper classes. He was pretty content in his skin. Which, admittedly, was probably a weird place to be for a high school student but it worked for him. He was friends with whomever he wanted, regardless of if liked him or not and tried to keep Scott from killing himself to get the new biology substitute teacher’s niece to notice him. This is why when--basketball and baseball star, overall jock, and hottie with a glare that could strip the paint off his jeep from thirty yards--Derek Hale asks him out he just laughs. He cracked up in his face and patted the upperclassman on the shoulder before he walked off while still chuckling.

“That’s how he knew where Erica and Boyd were.” He growled and stood to pace the length of the apartment. Melissa observed quietly while he processed and silently picked him apart. He was obviously possessive and protective but his facial expressions and motions were harsh, a bit wild, just a touch of the wolf showing in the man. Finding out that Derek was a werewolf had almost made a kind of poetic sense.
“I’d guess. I don’t know what happened with them. I know they died.” She reached out and placed a hand on Derek’s forearm. He went totally still like a rabbit caught in the eyes of a fox and stared at her. “I’m sorry.”
“Wh--¬what ?” he just blinked at her, still totally frozen.

“I don’t think you should look so surprised, I’ve been training a lot lately, okay?” He said indignantly, crossing his arms.
“Stiles, that’s not...” Scott said, half pointing at his direction.
That’s when Stiles heard that familiar voice again from behind him, “I think they’re confused about me, buddy.”
Stiles then remembered that he had to thank the stranger who had helped them, but... Wait... That familiar voice… Was that his voice? He turned around abruptly, wide eyed. He took three steps back, tripping and nearly falling on the ground.
Or: Stiles accidentally summons his future self who claims they can heal the nemeton.
