Colin gaped at her. Pen could be sharp in her witticisms, and he now knew she could be vindictive and cold when wounded. But he’d never seen her speak with such self-possession before. He bowed his head apologetically and gestured for her to continue.

An alternative S3 based on the synopsis. Aimed to have it completed before S3 was released but took too long. It was fully plotted but only half-written when the show was released, so occasional influence from the show has crept in but I try to minimise this. Probably now a bit of 'fix fic' (sort of) for those who wanted it to take longer to rebuild their relationship, more Colin perspective, a different placing of the Whistledown reveal, and some Colin and Pen against the world! :-)

Summary
Contrary to popular belief, the forest is not quiet this late, either. Some are hunting; some are praying to what powers animals might look to that they are not to be hunted. Sometimes, she could swear she heard the saplings grow, the peaty soil breath.
The difference that jars Vex’ahlia’s teeth is not the level of sound, but how it carries. Anything you hear in the bruised midnight shadow of trees was near or an echo - nothing in between. Here in the castle, stone carries noise like a missive.
All this to say that though she, like Keyleth, did not hear her brother return -
- she did hear Percy.

Set during C1 episode 64 - Vex has trouble sleeping due to Saundor's taunts. Just so happens Percy is awake, and nothing is a better distraction than dancing around your feelings.

Summary
This series will consist of a story for each aspect of D&D Ability Checks and Saves. I've got them all planned out and each story will dive into what it may have been like if an ability check or saving throw needed to happen.
I don't know, I thought it'd be fun.
Some stories will have a common thread of a plot, and should be posted in order. I'm still learning AO3 so I'm not even sure if I could fix it if need be.

Summary
Having Scanlan’s virtual mansion was amazing and incredibly convenient. It gave the crew a place to spend a safe night, do some basic training or planning, and eat and drink their fill at the end of a long day. The layout of the mansion never changed. Except for one minor thing: Vex’ahlia’s room and Percival’s room would occasionally (and randomly) switch places from one conjuring to the next. Or: five times the magnificent mansion accidentally switched Percy & Vex’s rooms, and one time it didn’t.
