Summary
Finally, at long last, with exhaustion trying to drag him into the depths, Scott can go to sleep. Except, he can't. His work is truly never done in these games. There is someone knocking on the Gs' door, and Scott is the only one still awake. Thankfully, their visitor is not an unwelcome one, and maybe Scott will sleep even better tonight.
To me, Ethoslab is a stray dog that Scott coaxed into his house. I took one singular line Etho said after teaming with the Gs and seeing their loaded storage and turned it into Scottho propaganda because I'm obsessed with them.

He can't remember exactly what happened, but Etho sees flashes of Scott with a warm smile and cold, dead hands. There's flashes of Joel, too, and phantom regret coils in his stomach like a cobra. And so, when Joel boogeys Scott in Past Life, Etho has anything but a composed reaction.

Joel Beans had never liked symmetry.
Not in the way the world did, anyway. He wasn’t built for tidy stories. He liked chaos. Liked choice. So of course, Fate had to go and make a cruel joke of him, because not only had both of his exes found each other in the way people wrote poems about, they hadn’t even needed the bond to do it.
Scott and Etho, two very different people that yet fit so well together. They had basically the perfect domestic life together. They chose each other, even against the protest of Fate.
And of course to doubly screw him over, they want him back.
