“Ritsu-kun?”
Still, nothing. He was definitely worried now. As much as Ritsu may dislike him, he was still always polite and wouldn’t just blatantly ignore him like this. Maybe he was sick or something? Arataka craned his neck, scanning him for possible injuries.
And that’s when he noticed the blood.
“Holy crap! Ritsu, you’re bleeding!” he exclaimed, fumbling out of his seat and running to him. It looked even worse up close. Blood coated both his hands like a second skin, and speaking of skin, his looked pretty torn up.
No response.
Now that he was closer, Arataka could hear his very quiet, almost sporadic breathing. Shoot. Something was really wrong.

He grabbed an unassuming composition book. On the front in a crude incarnation of Ritsu’s current, neat script “KAGEYAMA RITSU’S: DO NOT TOUCH” was inscribed so forcefully in big, block letters that Shou could feel the indents from the pen with his thumbnail.
“You’ve been keeping diaries since elementary school?” Shou blurted.
“Suzuki.”
Oh. Yeah. He was supposed to be quiet.Shou is given permission to snoop through Ritsu's childhood diaries. What he finds is a lot more than he bargained for.

The spirit hauls itself out of the sink on knobby hands, clawing for purchase on smooth stainless steel. Black nails and stringy black hair, knotted like unspooled yarn and dripping with black viscera. It plops onto the tiled floor with the second worst sound Reigen’s heard today and gropes at Shigeo’s shoelaces.
“Oh, hello,” Shigeo says, looking down. “Do you need something?

And Ritsu struck. “I hate you.”
(Despite the green-eyed monster in his heart, Ritsu sees red when he uses his power. He painted spots of it on himself just to get stronger, be fearsome, be worthy, carved a scarlet letter of suffering and guilt on his conscience just to bend some spoons. Now, everything around him wilts and warps- everything- when his anger flashes in front of him. It's like waving a flag before a bull.
And regardless of his intentions, Reigen might as well be a matador.)
