Gyro shrugs again. “He’s too tight down here, and too dry. A normal dinosaur would probably produce some kind of lubricant, but he’s still too human for that, or at least not in his right mind to transform slightly more. Passing an egg will be painful and dangerous if the way isn’t eased properly, so…” he wiggles the toy. “I’ll just ease the way manually.”
Johnny hates to admit when Gyro’s right, but there’s often no avoiding it. He heaves a great sigh, and pets Diego’s sweaty hair. Bleary teal eyes look back at him, huge and watery and incoherent, dark eyelashes clumped together and the skin around his eyelids reddened. Diego sniffles pathetically at him and Johnny sighs again.
“Alright, fine. Go for it.”
