Summary
Kim Minjae is a tired Pokemon Scientist and a retired Pokemon trainer, who left behind battling two years ago when he couldn’t get past the final member of the Elite 4, a boy his age of champion-rank who wielded fairy-type Pokemon, no matter how hard he tried. He uses his skills to instead devote his work to conservation efforts and sustainable environments for Pokemon across not only the Paldea region, but also other regions (which is indeed his passion) -- and he’s been abroad in the Alola region for the past one and a half years conducting fieldwork.
When he returns from Alola, he meets the middle-aged woman living with an Eevee who's moved in next door in Cabo Poco. It's much too bad that she happens to be the mother of the boy that stole his trainer's dignity away from him. It's also much too bad that said boy is now friends with most of his close friends.
He originally left Paldea to run away from this part of his past. Now that he's back, it's a shame that he can't get very far from the big sparkly eyes, fluffy hair, and talented battling prowess it has.

seeun doesn't love normally -- that's what he believes. it takes the entirety of maknae line to knock some sense into him, because seeun is the walking embodiment of love, and he just needs to be shown that.

love and love and love this treatment of Mable “why does she do as she does and what motivates her” but there is no one right answer but somehow it reminds me of the game itself “the bonds and connections forged between people and pokemon.” She isn’t less of herself because of her past and she works because she wants to but also because of … the bonds and she cares. Very human. And More Grisham and Griselle mentions yay!
