Summary
The show that night is poor: the speakers sound a bit shit, and somehow, they’ve oversold the tickets, so the gig’s chock-full, in a place that’s too hot to be this crowded. Damon’s in a sour mood, as he often is when he’s forced to be in one place and would rather be someplace else. He goes loud, aggressive, and pointedly annoyed, pent-up in a way that Graham recognizes from various pubs in Colchester. A pressure often only relieved when someone ended up with a black eye, usually Damon.

Or, Damon and Graham find something, lose it, then find it again while selling t-shirts across America.

Summary
“You haven’t found religion, then?” Damon continued.
Graham went to tug at his fringe and then remembered his hair was too short for it. “No, I don’t think I will. I don’t think drunks find religion; I feel like it’s for people who do too much cocaine.”

Summary
Pariston has always been good at making his own fun, most often through little games of social manipulation. He became a cruise director so he could toy with a captive audience to his heart's content. But even with unlimited playthings, he's grown bored - until someone new boards his ship.
Ging is a travel writer come to write a review of the Kakin Cruises’s newest ship. It’s easy money. Pariston has a new playmate. Ging can see through Pariston's perfectly tailored veneer to the horrid thing that roils beneath. He knows how to play all of Pariston's games. He refuses to give Pariston what he wants.
Stuck together on a ship at sea, it's only a matter of time before Pariston's desire grows into something uncontainable. The real question is: will Ging play along?
