The show that night is poor: the speakers sound a bit shit, and somehow, they’ve oversold the tickets, so the gig’s chock-full, in a place that’s too hot to be this crowded. Damon’s in a sour mood, as he often is when he’s forced to be in one place and would rather be someplace else. He goes loud, aggressive, and pointedly annoyed, pent-up in a way that Graham recognizes from various pubs in Colchester. A pressure often only relieved when someone ended up with a black eye, usually Damon.

Summary
The Lake Mobius Homeowners Association is infamous for two things: an absurdly long and asinine set of rules and its vice president who takes the utmost joy in enforcing them, Pariston Hill. It's under the pretense of performing these "vice presidential duties" that Pariston finds himself paying a visit to Ging, a new resident who's racked up an impressive amount of infractions in just a few short months.
But, it's not just Ging's disregard for things like "rules" and "fines" that captures Pariston's attention. There's something about the way Ging acts that gives Pariston the distinct feeling that he can see beyond Pariston's carefully crafted facade to the darkness churning below the surface.
And he’s hot. How awful.

Pariston imagines Ging’s fingers pressing down on the wound, imagines through the pain that Ging is doing this to hurt him on purpose. Will Pariston be able to stop himself from doing worse things to him when the time comes? Will he even want to?
