Summary
In all honesty, Freddy was surprised this didn’t happen sooner in the evening. Gregory was only a child after all, he couldn’t run off of pure adrenaline all night. He was hoping to find somewhere safe for the kid as he became quieter in Freddy’s chest cavity, but each time Freddy attempts to escort the child to his “bedroom”, the boy is magically wide awake, complaining at Freddy’s wandering.

Summary
Without another moment of hesitation, Gregory takes off, jogging towards the slide and diving right in, feet first, of course. The colors of the slide change as he slides right down, and just as he’s sure he’s in the clear, he hits something- or someone.
Someone large.

Chica’s room isn’t empty this time. The animatronic herself is standing on the elevated platform, most likely meant to be a tiny stage. She’s toying with an electric guitar, and Gregory can hear faint strumming coming from the window.

It sure wasn’t the answer he was expecting, but Freddy doesn’t move. Doesn’t startle, doesn’t gasp. He just strokes the kid’s hair, and though his hands are large and clumsy, Gregory seems to enjoy it.
“I don’t.. have a family. I never have. No home. I’ve never celebrated Christmas before. Or Hanukkah, I don’t really know which one I’d fall under..”

But Chica’s eyes are still locked on his, and when Gregory looks close enough, he can see panic on the robot's face. Robots don’t usually feel panic, do they? Killer robots definitely don’t.
Before he knows it, he’s stumbling towards the compactor, hand reached out towards the animatronic. Only, he doesn’t push. He pulls.

Summary
There always seems to be a new bruise each time he comes back, dirt smudged across his cheeks and knees, but all Freddy feels is relief. Bruises can heal after all, and he’s thankful it’s just that.
However, when Gregory comes to him with a large gash running down his leg, blood already drying on the pale skin, Freddy just about has a metaphorical heart attack.
