oh my god. Oh my god. respectfully, oh my god.
how do you write kagehina without much of them actually interacting with each other as the story plays out? in the ache left by what is not there. in how longing trails after them like shadows. like ghosts. i get all protective of my darling hinata and get pissed at kageyama tobio for going to the olympics without him or whatever but i digress. no matter what ship i try to eat up. there is no hinata without kageyama, there is no kageyama without hinata, even when it feels like they've tried so long to prove the opposite, and it just drives me insane. -

i inhaled this in like A FEW HOURS and proceeded to reread it for the next few hours. i am so in love with how kagehina are depicted here. it's like the author pulled the haikyuu characters out of their nifty little exaggerated-humor anime home and turned them into living breathing people. screw the new york times bestsellers this author and their fic is my cocomelon

He’s written out the name almost before he’s processed setting pen to paper. But, once it’s there, it stares at him accusingly, impossible to erase. The measure of his hurt, and the topography of his regrets.
And what would Dimitri even have to say of use on the matter? Even less than his other old friends, that’s for sure, but in far more words. Dimitri, so clumsy with girls that Sylvain, in their first month at Garreg Mach, had loudly pronounced him a lost cause where all their classmates could hear? Dimitri, for whom tenderness had always been a learned art? Dimitri, who had become estranged from love nine years ago, and never learned to meet it again?
