High school sucks, completely. That was something Gerard knew all too well and there wasn’t a doubt in his mind about it. The part he didn’t know was that the new punk kid could possibly change his opinion on that, or well, maybe they could both agree high school sucks in the end. Who knows? Teenagers never do, apparently.

Summary
Gerard was an aspiring and talented pianist until his grandmother's death destroyed that part of him.
He's never played piano since.
Enter Frank.
The two meet at a youth counselling group Gerard's mother forced him to attend one Sunday afternoon and soon develop a friendship over mutual despair and understanding.
Frank's been bullied and harassed for far too long and has trust issues.
Gerard's been grieving and depressed for just over a year and has coping issues.
They're both messed in their own ways.
Frank wants to fix Gerard and Gerard wants the same for Frank.
I'm shit at writing summaries but I can assure you this won't be as cliche as it sounds.

Also I am not an expert on the Vatican or medical-type things, so please accept my apologies in advance for all the wild inaccuracies I am sure you are about to encounter. If everyone could just assume this is the Magical Made-Up Vatican, you know, like the religious institution version of those tour buses that drive themselves and don't carry anyone but the band, that would be awesome.

Summary
When Frank, a sickly young man, is advised by his doctors to leave London for the country, he makes arrangements to stay with his friend Michael, who just so happens to be in possession of a large, old, and somewhat creepy manor house. What Frank has no idea of at the time is that Michael has an older brother, whose presence in the house he conceals. Gerard is an eccentric recluse who spends most of his time hiding in the attic and avoiding any kind of interaction with people, but he finds himself fascinated with Frank, who in turn realizes that the house has secrets, and becomes determined to uncover them. When he finally does discover Gerard, their first meeting is only the beginning of their story.

Basically, this is based off of the music video for “I’m Not Okay” and it also includes (but is not limited to) gratuitous mentions of a drunken fascination with a lamp, one evil lacrosse team, two breakdowns in a bathroom, grandmothers with green hair, a couple bruises, and a whole lot of revenge.
