Summary
post-canon ellabs kinktober oneshot (blood play, biting)
In a rain-choked Washington safehouse, they burn through another night. Ellie calls it a fight. Abby doesn’t call it anything.
What begins as a sparring match collapses into a barter of teeth, blood, and touch—two survivors circling the same wound, both desperate for the only language they still trust.

Summary
The truth is, she isn’t sorry, and she doesn’t have to do this; she wants to. She could let it go and move on the way everyone else seems to be able to do, but her grip on revenge is sclerotic.
Or,
Ellie decides to get even but gets a girlfriend instead. (It's a Catalina Island healing story. There's PTSD. Food made from kelp. And a lot of overwhelming feelings).

Summary
Ellie always found it hard to accept the present. It used to be easy, this thing called change; something that was everlasting, something she was incapable of.
Abby’s features had visibly matured over time. Her voice was deeper, her eyes wiser. Lev was an adult. Everything about him radiated a newfound confidence. There would always be that residual caution that left his expression rigid, but from all the death and adversity, emerged a young man.
Ellie was the only one left who was stuck in time; frail and scared, like a stray dog.
(Ellie has a happy ending that she can't accept.)

Summary
She turns back around and picks up Abby’s hands to try and rub warmth back into them. She very pointedly does not acknowledge the pang in her chest, and how much it feels like when she found her, starved and tied to a post. Then, Joel’s lessons on survival ring in her brain.
Warm the body first. Losing a finger or two ain’t nothing compared to dying. Okay? Dry heat until they are no longer in danger, and then move ‘em to a warm bath if ya have one on hand.
Abby isn’t going to get warm enough like this. Lying stiff on the ground, her eyes close as she loses consciousness again. Ellie presses her fingers to her pulse. It’s too slow. She’s still too cold.
There was, another bit of advice that Joel gave.
Now Ellie, sometimes you’re not gonna have enough blankets to get ‘em warm. Or maybe they don’t have much time. If that’s the case, body heat works well.
Ellie closes her eyes and swallows.
If she was going to go to all of this trouble to save Abby in the first place, she can’t just stop at the finish line.

Summary
They've lost their fathers, their lovers, their friends, themselves.
But they're still searching.
For hope. For peace. For something they can only get from each other.
