Those words had poured into Quinn like warm golden light. They pushed the cold blackness away, filling the hollow spaces inside his chest with something bright and steady.
Something that made breathing easier.
Something that made the world stop hurting so much.
He said Quinn would be cured.
And Quinn believed him.
Quinn had tried very hard to be good. Truly good. The toy he was gifted, the lion—it was important. Doctor Sawyer had said so. Quinn had held it carefully, the way he was supposed to. He had treated it gently, never pulling at the seams, never twisting its limbs the way his hands sometimes wanted to.

Poppy mentally wrestles with her situation and relationship with the Prototype, what he used to be and what he became while trying to find a way to escape that doesn't get her in a worse place, that in itself is a flawed one, and for better or worse complicates things more.
Basically my perspective of this dysfunctional family now that their Dad already kicked the bucket and as much the solutions to the mess he left them with.
