On my favorite stories. I love Ward’s characterization and the acknowledgment of SHIELD’s failings, without automatically making anything problematic with the agency Hydra’s fault. My only gripe is the sidelining of Skye into a domesticated role, and her sole purpose in the story is to serve as a plot device for the men in her life, whether it be Ward or Coulson. And frankly, I could do without the Darcy subplot.

As the centipede soldier had wrapped a meaty hand around her throat his words had sunk into her like poison “You’ll be the death of them, the ones you love. They’ll all die and for what? You can’t win she’ll get what she wants she always does” Ward had cut him off then with a well aimed icer shot and they’d made their escape.
