Summary
After Will’s rescued from the Upside Down, he’s finally been cleared to return to school. That’s when Mike notices all these girls begging him to pass along little love notes to Will, the female population of Hawkins Middle crushing hard on his best friend. Mike has no idea how to handle all this attention that’s directed at an unsuspecting Will’s way, and he hopes that Will never gives any of these girls his time. Being 13 never felt so confusing.

“Will!!”
Joyce’s scream cuts through the desolate air of Dimension X. She drops to her knees, eyes fixed on Will, who’s on all fours, head hanging, chest heaving. His hands sink into the ash as his body begins to shake, sharp and uncontrollable.
Mike darts forward. “Will?! Will!! Are you okay?!”
The others follow, fear written across their faces. Robin kneels before him, reaching out. Her voice just above a whisper.
“Will?”
Slowly, he lifts his head. Green eyes are gone—replaced by milky white orbs staring into Robin’s blue ones.
Gasps ripple through the group. This isn’t Will. The gentleness is gone. The warmth Will carried has now shifted with a cold murderous look. As if the light was drained out of him. A smirk curls across his lips.
His voice is low, chilling, yet almost tender:
“I told you… every door you leave open, I walk through.”Vecna has found his way back home.
Will was never the target. He was the way in.

He reaches into himself, mind briefly clear enough to be able to tell his body what to do, and he gathers all of his love into his hands and shapes it. There is so much and it is a bright, white light. He forms a great dragon, bigger than himself, bigger than the Shadow, and he commands it to act.
You are everything that I love and need to protect. You are capable of conquering darkness.
