Soap starts to feel like he's slowly being replaced in Ghost's heart, now that Roach has joined the 141. It takes him a while longer to realize why he's getting jealous over it, however.
Meanwhile, Roach is done with Ghost's emotionally-stunted bullshit and tries his best to help his friend out. He also tries to help out Soap, for better or for worse.

In need of some moral support, Edgeworth requests that Phoenix supply his 'consultation services' and accompany him to the von Karma family estate in Germany (despite having been disbarred for two years and just about zero knowledge of inheritance law).
Sure, Phoenix had been expecting to deal with the ensemble of judgey relatives (not literally, thank god), jetlag, crushing homesickness for his daughter, and even von Karma's tragic interior design choices. A whole murder case, however? That he hadn't accounted for. (Which, in retrospect, may have been a bit of an oversight because he and Edgeworth really do seem to be magnets for this kind of thing...)

The thing about plastic chairs is that they weren't a great substitute for an actual bed; the other thing is, Robert can't exactly afford to be picky and even if he 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 the internal debate is still ongoing as to whether or not he deserves a mattress at this current point in his life.
So, the plastic chair stays and is staying for the foreseeable future. Besides, it's charming - in a depressing, minimalism-that-is-totally-not-a-reflection-of-his-inner-sense-of-worth way.
Or:The fic where Robert has chronic pain and Flambae has warm hands. The two of them will figure out what to do about that eventually, right?
