Summary
Set in 2007 Hawkins, a recently divorced father of two — Mike Wheeler — bumps into his old friend Will at his workplace, Hawkins middle, where he’s the substitute teacher for a class hosting his eldest daughter and Will’s adoptive son.
Will had moved to New York in the early 90’s when Mike got engaged to his ex-wife, Kimberly, and they lost touch—not have talked in over 15 years. Will expressed his reasons for moving may have been triggered by Mike’s choice in romantic partner and Mike is quick to admit his disapproval of Will’s ‘boyfriend’.

Slow updates possibly, because I have trauma with DV myself. This fic started as a project to help me work through my trauma, but after I got a little tipsy and decided to post it on TikTok a lot of people wanted to read this fic. I hope this finds someone who will enjoy reading as much as I will enjoy writing, but due to how close to home the abuse aspect is, it might be a while between chapters. But I promise I won't abandon it, and will still post as regularly as I can. This fic is too important for me to just abandon 🤗 Y'all just might have to bear with me.
Also some of the chapters are REALLY long lol so it takes a while to edit them.

Summary
Tormented by memories of El, and haunted by a song constantly playing on the radio (courtesy of an old friend), Mike Wheeler hears that his best friend is hospitalized from a nasty car crash and comes rushing to his side. While Mike awaits his bedside for Will to wake up from a coma, he is left with nothing to do but sit and think about his past, and what the rest of his future will look like if he has to lose Will too.
All the while, receiving scathing glares from across the other side of the bed by Will's boyfriend… as well as suspicious looks from the wife sitting right beside Mike.
When Will wakes up, he's met with an irritated boyfriend, and a determined Mike who seems hellbent on rekindling a flame that he put out years ago. And, oh yeah! Can't forget Mike's wife who apparently didn't know Will existed. Fun times!
