Or not that much, really, if Pond were being honest, because they still had to do plenty of explaining and exposition around it, the two disclaimers they’d learned to give to the watchers: this is not fanservice and this is fanservice, both equally defiant of the rules that’d ruled them in the industry for a long time. But once a certain amount of time passed, ‘partner’ became a familiar term in interviews and shows. It made its debut on stage—Pond couldn’t recall the first time they’d used that word in front of cameras—and settled into a comfortable position by the bed, knees tucked in, not quite sure where it was going to spend the night but not quite anxious about it either.
