Will Byers is officially a homewrecker. He hates that he’s the ‘other person’ in someone’s relationship. And hates himself even more since that someone is his step sister. Things got way too messy way too fast. He wants to put the blame on Mike for initiating all of their kisses first, but Will remembers exactly when he stopped pushing him away and started kissing back. Sure, Mike started the fire, but he brought the fuel. And for some godforsaken reason, the boys thought they could eat s’mores too. Suddenly, everything looks and feels like The Lorax after the Once-ler entered his corrupt, evil villain arc and went totally ape shit on Mother Nature’s ass.

I thought you were probably the one who gave him the pep talk to actually go through with it."
Mike didn’t know. He didn't know anything. He’d talked to Will on Friday. He’d talked to Will today, just before calling Dustin. Will had mentioned the weather, his latest charcoal sketch, and the fact that Max had accidentally bleached one of his favorite sweaters. He had not mentioned a business major named Carlton.
The betrayal tasted like copper. He was the person Will usually told everything to first.
OR Mike Wheeler realizes that playing the "Good Best Friend" is a losing game, Will is tired of waiting for a sign, and the Party proves that they are world-class at covering up a tactical romantic explosion.
Basically: cheating Byler burger with a side of mutual pining fries and enabler friends soda.

Newt doesn’t understand what is going on– but six months after the start of his head spins a new Greenie arrives, the same one he sees during his head spins.

“Are they now?” Dustin raises an eyebrow at him.
“Yes!” Will is perhaps a bit exasperated, “Stephen and Jay are clearly Steve and Robin, and James is Hopper,” at the blank look they give him, he clarifies, “his first name is Jim.”
This somehow only makes Lucas seem more unimpressed, “okay, but you do see how that’s more suspicious right?”
“What? That Mike can’t come up with names?”
“No,” Lucas shakes his head and clasps Will in the shoulder, “that the first name Mike thought to cannibalize when coming up with a boyfriend for you was his own”.The party grows closer after Will moves in with the Wheelers, picking up D&D again. It all goes well until Mike introduces a new character, Sir. Gabriel Whepler, whose sole purpose seems to be flirting with Will.
