The descent is fast, maybe even reckless, but Jaskier’s feeling numb and out-of-sorts anyways, Geralt’s words simmering in his mind, and at the time it doesn’t feel like he’s being pulled on by anything but his own desire to get away."

    It’s thrilling to have Astarion so close, even sniffing at his skin like a beast. A not insignificant part of him has admired this charming rake for quite some time, though he’s loath to admit his shameful crush out loud. Even as his skin seems to reach towards the solid line of the vampire’s body, Gale can’t admit how much he wants to be touched by him.

    “Darling…” Astarion rumbles, voice slightly off, with an affectation like he’s drunk. His nose trails along Gale’s neck again, another loud, unabashed inhalation over the bump of Gale’s throat. “You smell positively delicious.”

    An unfortunate incident occurs in the fleshy halls underneath Moonrise Tower and Gale seeks privacy to deal with the mess, not realizing he's being followed until a hungry creature with flashing red eyes corners him away from the others. Gale doesn't run.

    “I would like to introduce you to Geralt of Rivia. There was an infestation of cockatrices, and Geralt quickly dispatched them.” Margarette pivoted to the Witcher. “Geralt, this is my dearest friend, the Duchess of Lettenhove.”

    Her observations of the Witcher thus far showed her a stoic man, self contained, with quiet words accompanied by barely perceptible changes in his facial expressions. But as his peculiar gaze locked on her, she noticed a perplexed look as he stared deeply into her striking blue eyes. As quickly as the expression had begun, he smoothed out his brow. “It is wonderful to meet you, Dutchess,” he said.

    Annalise Pancratz, Duchess of Lettenhove attends a party celebrating a traveling Witcher and the renown bard, Jaskier. She desperately needs respite from the challenges in her life: a dour husband and an estranged son. Perhaps some good music and tales from a brave monster hunter will be what she needs to take her mind off of her troubles. But when she faces an unlikely danger, she realizes that this night may change her own future for the better.
