Rain drips down the slope of Pete's nose, over his full lips. He's lying on his scarred cheek, pressing that sensitive and intimate part of himself down on Ray's shoulder. He shifts his face, rubbing his hair against the bare skin of Ray's neck, sending shivers through his entire body. Ray adjusts himself as subtly as he can. Accidentally squeezes Pete's muscular shoulder a little bit. Prays that he won't notice.
Watches, holding his breath, as Pete keeps dreaming.
Wonders if he's dreaming about a stocky, sweaty redhead, hauling bales of hay in the stuffy Maine spring.

Will's sudden chuckle filled the room. Mike's face went hot. He buried his face in his hands as Will continued to laugh. After a few seconds, Will turns to Mike. “You wanna tell them what happened to the eye?” he asks, a small smile on his face. Mike meets his eyes, blush painting his face, accompanied by a playful frown. “No, I don't really want to.”

There’s something wrong with Will.
It started three weeks ago, almost four. Will had woken from some sort of nightmare and, instead of seeking comfort in Mike the way he usually would, he’d rolled out a sleeping bag from the closet and chosen to sleep on the floor.
No one believes Mike, except for Joyce. But even she doesn’t understand the full extent to which something is wrong with Will.
Mike understands, though. Mike has been paying attention.
