Summary
Jason is 14, and he's subject to going to his father's house on the weekends. He does not want to be there.
After the death of Whizzer, arguments between Jason and Marvin are more frequent. Jason is angry at the world and gets almost zero attention from his parents, much like Marvin was at 14.
Though, Jason doesn't want to turn out like Marvin. Not at all, he despises the idea. So he prays, he prays as hard as he can.

"I don't know if we deserve it," Kevin breathes.
"Deserve what?" Connor shifts where he lays to get a good look at Kevin. His dark hair is even darker, soaked with water, and Connor watches a few droplets drip from the strands and roll off of his jaw.
He looks beautiful, is all that he manages to think in the moment, even as he tries to shove it down and let it rot away. He can’t. Not when Kevin’s giving him a sideways glance with his pretty brown eyes and tanned skin and such a soft look on his face. He can’t possibly not think the sight is beautiful.
Kevin turns to him as well. They're very close now—Connor can almost feel Kevin's breath on his skin. "Love..."
