“Did you hear what I said?” the silver-haired stranger asked sharply. “What are you doing here? Swimming in the lake at night is forbidden.”
“Oh—oh, no! You have it all wrong, I’m not here to swim—” Gon scrambled to stand as his mind raced. Who was this guy? Why had Kite told him not to visit the lake at night if other people were allowed to do it? “—I work with Kite at the research facility!”
“The research facility is closed at this hour. And Kite definitely knows better than to hang around here after sunset. Are you new or something?”

Gon accepts a job with Kite for the chance to leave Whale Island for the first time in his life. But Gon's employment at Lake Kukuroo comes with rules - don’t explore the lake alone, and don’t visit the lake at night.
And even though Gon enjoys working alongside Kite, learning about the lake and the strange blue-eyed swan that inhabits it, he is also curious. Gon wants to know why Kite is so strict with his rules. And he needs to know more about Killua Zoldyck, the only person Gon has ever seen on the lake at night and who may be the reason why Kite has rules in the first place.

Summary
[Completed] It's hard to accept change as it happens, and Gon has seen a lot of it.
Heat advisories take over Gon's home, YorkNew City, as he and his friends arrive for another week in hell, or in other words... school. Things don't turn out the way they planned, though. Students have gone rabid, and the school becomes a warzone. It doesn't take long for Gon and his friends to find themselves trapped amongst other students, none of whom trust each other. One of those students happen to be a long lost friend of his, and Gon isn't quite sure if he'd rather fight off zombies or face his true feelings. And in a sense... Killua feels the same way.
Will they escape with their lives? That's the question isn't it.

"Are you okay?!"
The panic in Killua's words had been enough to trigger Gon's flight reflexes, but the sight of another infected student's eyes locking on Killua's neck and reeling back to pounce ensued Gon's fight reflex. He took the book from under Killua's arm and, as the monster lept at full speed, clocked him right in the head. The force was enough to send the monster to his back, and Gon decided he was taking no more chances.
He grabbed Killua's hand, and ran.

Summary
The Whale Island Observatory offers one of the most coveted internships in the country, and it just so happened to land on Killua Zoldyck, a recently graduated astronomy student who has worked his ass off for this internship ever since he entered university, vowing that he’ll go back to the island where his passion for astronomy started.
It’s a shame that in between trying to keep himself afloat and raising enough money to free his sisters from their family, he lost sight of the love he once had for the stars.
Too good of an opportunity to pass up, and the fact that the money would afford him a new life with his sisters, Killua decided to accept the internship anyway—though he swore to quit as soon as the internship is over. Why would he force himself to go through something he’s forgotten how to enjoy? It’s not like he has something worth staying for.
Then enter Gon Freecss, the long-lost childhood friend Killua met years ago, who seemed to be more excited about the internship than he is.
… Well, damn. Maybe this internship wouldn’t be so bad, after all.

Summary
Gon remembers Killua as his best friend.
He does not remember that Killua is his boyfriend.After an accident leaves Gon with patchy memory loss, Killua decides not to tell him about their four-year relationship, afraid that the truth would trap Gon into a choice he no longer remembers making. But their apartment is full of evidence, their friends are terrible liars, and Gon’s heart seems to remember what his mind cannot.
As Gon falls for Killua all over again, Killua has to learn that love is not proven by asking for nothing. Sometimes, being chosen means telling the truth and trusting the other person to choose.

Gon Freecs is 18 currently living in an idealistic small town, looking to pursue his passion by working at a radio store. The war has been ongoing for years now, but within his mind, it has always been something distant and never at the forefront of his worries. That is, until he is drafted to the next batch of recruits and must report to Northridge Enclave.
While acclimating to the new environment, Gon's cheerful demeanor will be challenged by the horrors of reality. The main officer he reports to is Killua Zoldyck, a recently promoted soldier who is in charge of the new regiment and preparing them for the front lines. We follow Gon across the span of a few months, starting from his draft letter, to boot camp and the connections he forms, later his experiences in battle, and his complex relationship with his superior officer—through a mix of letters and his own perspective. Despite his naive hope, there is a growing dread and it's clear that not everyone will get to make it home.
