Summary
Natalie's senior year appears to be more interesting than she could have possibly imagined when she returns home from Nationals with, not only a trophy, but a new boyfriend as well. She didn't know much about Travis Martinez before getting on the plane to Seattle, but a lot can change in a week, and Natalie and Travis find themselves drawn to each other by an inexplainable pull that neither of them can resist.
Or... The plane doesn't crash on the way to Nationals, that doesn't stop Natalie and Travis from finding each other

It is October 2000, three years after the rescue and Travis has enrolled to a community college per his mother's request. Natalie is out of rehab and she gets a call.
