Summary
Taehyung’s family has always been royals and Namjoon’s family has been serving as the bodyguard team for many years. It’s how Taehyung and Namjoon know each other, they grew up together from a young age, playing together while their dads were at work. They stay close friends, growing into best friends as they grow older.
A year before Taehyung is due to start university, Namjoon overhears Taehyung and his friends discussing who will be Taehyung’s personal bodyguard when he goes to uni. They mention Namjoon but dismiss him because of how he’s ‘way too weedy, nerdy and noodle-like’ to protect Taehyung. Namjoon is upset (he doesn’t hear Tae defending him, he’s gone by then) but he's also upset because he agrees with them. Thus, Namjoon convinces his dad (who’s by now assumed that his son is probably not going to be following in his footsteps) to let him go away to a special training place. He’s gone for a year (maybe he goes without telling Taehyung) and when he comes back and he’s no longer noodle-like! He’s big, hot, muscly, a 007-type figure. Taehyung is like ‘I’m so pissed at you for disappearing…you stupid hot, sexy man 🥵.
