Every family must send an alpha or beta to the army that is being raised quickly by Lan, Jin, and Nie, against the invading Wen clan, after they had destroyed the Jiang so scarily efficiently and suddenly. The only reminisces of the Jiang, is alpha Jiang Cheng who is determined to rebuild the clan, and omega Wei Ying, who is equally as determined to help his brother. The only option is to go in his place to the training grounds for soldiers. He must go disguised as an alpha, since omegas are expected to only marry and bear children.
The alpha tasked with training the new recruits, is Lan Wangji, nephew of the war general Lan Qiren and brother to the Imperial Emperor Lan Xichen.

"Wei Ying deserves nice things," Lan Zhan says, in that gentle yet firm tone, and it's almost frightening how quickly he has gotten used to this. Wei Wuxian has never felt like he's owned - not in the way that Madam Yu claims his wants and dictates what he should feel, but in a way where he felt so wanted, Lan Zhan's hand subtle yet grounding over Wei Wuxian's hips, warm even through layers of silk and denim.
Even if Jiang Cheng was right and he is a kept man, Wei Wuxian thinks it's all right, when Lan Zhan keeps him with such gentle care. When he makes Wei Wuxian feel so safe.

When Wei Wuxian steals several crates of a multi-million-dollar weapon supply from his rival, Lan Wangji, Lan Wangji explodes since this isn’t the first time Wei Wuxian stole something from him. So, wanting Wei Wuxian to pay, he decides killing Wei Wuxian is the best option.
However, when the first attempt fails, Lan Wangji discovers a surgeon in the black market.

Unfortunately, he didn’t expect Wei Wuxian’s sudden hormone change to affect the newly turned omega so highly. So when Wei Wuxian starts pouncing on him every chance the omega gets, Lan Wangji is left with a thieving rival/horny omega who only wants to devour him at all times.
And Wei Wuxian? Well, he really, really hates finding Lan Wangji so irresistible.
