And even though the two of them were joking, Lumine paused. There was a stutter in her movements, the drag of her hand in Childe’s that made him stop and look at her. He tried to say something, but Lumine opened her mouth first.
"You know you're special to me." Her gaze fell to the ground as the silence stretched on between them.
"Do I? You don’t treat me any differently whether I'm your soulmate or a random guy you tolerate."
And Lumine hated to admit it but he was right. Maybe that's why she was hesitating. It was already predetermined by the cosmos that she was to fall for Childe. And he may be a little annoying. And a total attention whore but they were friends.
Right?
Or the one where a silly rivalry between two strangers makes all the difference between strengthening one’s soulmate connection or risking tearing them apart. Follow them as they begrudgingly spend time together discovering that there are some things even more valuable than proving a point, like falling in love.

Scaramouche notices a lot of things now that Lyney was in front of him.
"Whatever," He mutters, clearly not enjoying how Lyney laughs at him and looks at him like he's hung the stars in the sky. He's about to fire off a retort of some sort to continue their banter but Lyney produces a rose out of nowhere.
The magician hands it to Scaramouche, winking. He doesn't need to say anything at all and yet Scaramouche's cheeks burn like he was just caught doing something he shouldn't. Lyney offers nothing else to the conversation, eventually having to step away to take a call from his sister. And that leaves Scaramouche alone with his thoughts and a frightening thought crosses his mind.

“Cat got your tongue Akutagawa-Kun?” Akutagawa scowled, and he fought back the urge to stomp on Dazai’s foot with that grin directed at him.

Summary
When Kaveh discovers that Alhaitham has been reading a book about human sexuality and kinks, he generously offers to assist Alhaitham with some sexual exploration. It’s a risky proposal, and one that could end very badly—thanks to their falling-out years ago, the two of them have trust issues galore.
But it turns out that Kaveh and Alhaitham are surprisingly good at trust and communication when it comes to sex…which raises some questions about the nature of their relationship, and where exactly this whole experiment is leading them.
“Look,” Kaveh says, “if you’re going to approach sexual pleasure like an experiment, most potential partners won’t take too kindly to the idea of you having sex with them for science. Therefore, to spare all the poor people you’d inevitably insult in your quest for data, I am willing to be that person.”
“How charitable of you,” Alhaitham says.
“And I assume that you’re somewhat comfortable with the idea of having sex with me,” Kaveh adds, “or else you wouldn’t have been so willing to have my fingers in your mouth just now.”

From an early age, Alhaitham's grandmother had taught him how to properly treat his own injuries. In general, she always encouraged Alhaitham to be independent, so it came about quite naturally that Alhaitham would simply attend to himself whenever he got hurt.
Alhaitham could easily take care of himself, so why was Kaveh bothering? The situation was so bizarre that it didn't even occur to Alhaitham to resist. He only silently watched his senior work, fascinated.

As cautious as he is, there are circumstances that even Alhaitham hadn't foreseen.

Like Haitham would even care, Kaveh almost says, before remembering that the whole point is making everyone think Al-Haitham would, in fact, care.
“Oh, he’ll show up, all right,” he says instead. “He’s going to show up so hard, you don’t even know. Because he cares. So much. About me.”
His abductors trade looks with each other.
“Why do you think he’s into him?” the first man whispers, perfectly audible.
The other shrugs. “Maybe the ex-Acting Grand Sage likes blondes?”
Or: After the truth of his living situation finally gets out to the rest of Sumeru, Kaveh knows he has only one way to protect his reputation: convince everyone that he and Al-Haitham are married.
Too bad he never realized the risk of being the former Acting Grand Sage’s wife.
