And even though the two of them were joking, Lumine paused. There was a stutter in her movements, the drag of her hand in Childe’s that made him stop and look at her. He tried to say something, but Lumine opened her mouth first.
"You know you're special to me." Her gaze fell to the ground as the silence stretched on between them.
"Do I? You don’t treat me any differently whether I'm your soulmate or a random guy you tolerate."
And Lumine hated to admit it but he was right. Maybe that's why she was hesitating. It was already predetermined by the cosmos that she was to fall for Childe. And he may be a little annoying. And a total attention whore but they were friends.
Right?

Scaramouche notices a lot of things now that Lyney was in front of him.
"Whatever," He mutters, clearly not enjoying how Lyney laughs at him and looks at him like he's hung the stars in the sky. He's about to fire off a retort of some sort to continue their banter but Lyney produces a rose out of nowhere.
The magician hands it to Scaramouche, winking. He doesn't need to say anything at all and yet Scaramouche's cheeks burn like he was just caught doing something he shouldn't. Lyney offers nothing else to the conversation, eventually having to step away to take a call from his sister. And that leaves Scaramouche alone with his thoughts and a frightening thought crosses his mind.

"You good Aether?" He snapped his eyes away from Tomo's face, embarrassed to be caught in the act of staring. This tended to happen every time Tomo found his way into his chair. He was supposed to be more professional than this. He was one of the best artists from experience alone, and yet he was reduced to a puddle every time Tomo so much as looked in his general direction.
“You have pretty eyelashes.” Aether felt like his soul had left his body, Tomo blinked back at him, mouth open. Neither of them knew what to say, and Aether wanted to bang his head on the nearest table. The comment was ignored and Aether was forever grateful, though he was surely going to complain to Kazuha later.
Aether wasn't sure when it had happened, but some time over rehearsal and working in close contact with the blond, he had formed a crush on Tomo.

Akutagawa’s fingers had a mind of their own, typing a response in Atsushi’s chat, and jokingly offering to join his world if he needed the extra luck.
A couple of things happened all at once. Akutagawa ignored another call from Chuuya, Atsushi’s chat was going wild as he processed the message live, and a discord notification bypassed the do not disturb setting.
A friend request.
From Atsushi.
Akutagawa bolts to his desk, Rashomon forgotten on the couch as he boots up discord and the game. While he waits, he accepts the friend request on his phone.
Atsushi sends his UID almost immediately. And Akutagawa stares at it for a moment. His hands are shaking. Another ping alerts him. He just mutes his mic preemptively and hops into voice chat with Atsushi.
Atsushi audibly sucked in a breath. Akutagawa realizes he probably should have thought this through a little more.
Or the one where Akutagawa is a big-time streamer, Atsushi is on his way up to the top, and somewhere along the way the two of them fall in love and grow closer in a way neither would expect.

Yellow had never been his favorite color. Despite having remarkably unique eyes that showcased a delicate mix of gold and purple, Atsushi couldn’t care less about the pigment.
He sighed, picking up another dollop of the offending color and as the paintbrush hovered over his collarbone. He hadn’t been able to grab much from Junichiro’s place before the police had shown up, but he had a mind to grab a care package he had made in case of an emergency. Atsushi cleaned the brush and dipped it into some purple, bright and vibrant as his eyes and dotted the color around his clavicle.
Someday, Atsushi might break the habit of painting flowers directly onto his skin, but today was not that day.

Grey eyes matched with iridescent for a moment and Akutagawa paused. He’d recognize that choppy grey hair anywhere. Nakajima’s eyes lit up with recognition and oh, how Akutagawa wanted nothing more than to crawl into a hole. But Dazai must’ve seen the terror on his face for he grabbed Akutagawa’s shoulder with newfound energy and directed him towards the pair.
“Atsushi-kun! Kyouka-chan! Over here!”

Summary
Atsushi never thought it would happen to him. Run of the mill luck trails behind him like his shadow. His neighbors tolerate him, his coworkers think he's silly. Atsushi is only trying to get by, but when a sudden and abrupt house fire rips away all that he owns, he's left struggling to pick up the pieces.
Enter Akutagawa Ryunosuke, his next-door neighbor and a complete stranger. The guy hardly puts up with him, and it only makes matters worse when they're forced into a hotel together. But Ryunosuke might act like he hates Atsushi, but he’s the one there when Atsushi wakes up from his nightmares.
And as they gradually begin to open up to each other; bonded together in the aftermath, they find that there's a lot more in store for them than just a house fire.

Atsushi was and still is someone that he never thought he would get close to, let alone like or fantasize dating and yet. There he was, in all his glory staring at Akutagawa like he was a god on earth and he felt his ears start to burn.

Akutagawa looked at Atsushi who smiled warmly at him, and he wondered when this became their norm. When had he become comfortable with Atsushi presence and dare he even say it, craved to see the other boy?
