Summary
It had taken Bradley four years to join the Navy after his uncles had successfully pulled his papers. It had taken him even longer to attempt to come to terms with the permanent consequences that still haunted him as a result. Mav had been right—losing a wingman had shattered him.
Following his uncles to Scotland and fleeing the military had been the next logical option. What better way to bond with them and escape the pressures of his old job? It certainly wasn’t as if he had anyone back home to lose—no partner, no family, nothing.
But somehow that all changes upon meeting Jake Seresin, a man who was as shifty as they come. All Jake ever talked about was a desire to go back home, though he never seemed willing to leave. Add in a lost sealskin coat that Jake refused to return without, and suddenly, Bradley was caught in the middle of something he never thought existed.
He still wanted Jake safe, though. That was all it was—Bradley promised. It’s not as if Jake was married or anything…right?
