Summary
On Steve Harrington’s 14th birthday, he experiences a series of ‘firsts.’ His first high school party, his first time being drunk, his first kiss, and his first cigarette. He should be excited, or proud, or something- anything other than this…. feeling empty and alone, like his life is over before it had a chance to properly start.
He really, really misses Eddie.

“It’s better this way.” He mutters to himself, repeating it over and over as he rocks in place.
He felt stupid to think anything could have happened between them. He knows who he is, who he’s meant to be. Steve Harrington, heir to the Harrington fortune, destined to get married to an equally wealthy debutante, carry on the family name, and eventually take over his father’s company.
There’s no room for 'Stevie' in that future, no matter how nice it had felt at the time.

The Owl House (TOH) and Steddie are my two main hyperfixations rn and while I was on my 3rd rewatch of TOH, I had a thought- Eda the Owl Lady, Eda kinda sounds like Eddie, Eddie the Owl Lady? No, it'd be bats, not owls... So on and so on until I reached Eddie the Bat Freak and the idea kinda took off from there 😅

Eddie Munson made the mistake of falling in love when he was 14 years old, and he’s spent the last 6 years of his life trying to ignore the soulmark on his forearm, a cluster of bats sprawling across his freckled skin, mocking him whenever he takes his jacket off.

Summary
Most people will have at least one soulmate in their lifetime, which can be romantic or platonic.Your mark will not appear until you’ve met each other and are “ready” to be together. This can get complicated and messy because sometimes you meet someone and you know right away. Other times, it might take a while to become the person that your soulmate needs. It isn’t uncommon for soulmates to get their marks at different times because of this.
Steve and Eddie meet each other in the summer of 1980 and become best friends. Just a few weeks later, Eddie gets a soul mark- a cluster of bats on his right forearm.
Steve doesn't get a mark, though, so Eddie chooses to keep his hidden. They enter their freshman year at Hawkins High where misunderstandings and drama follow, leaving both boys on opposite ends of the social ladder, their friendship shattered.
They both try to move on with their lives, with varying degrees of success… until Chrissy Cunningham is murdered in 1986, bringing them together again.
Turns out, a lot can change in 6 years.

Summary
El has been looking for a place to belong since she escaped Hawkins Lab 3 years ago. Jim Hopper is a good man and loving father- he's done his best, but there's only so much one guy can do while raising a teenage girl in the middle of nowhere. There's just something about the Boiling Isles… it feels like home in a way Hawkins never had- not Hopper's cabin and certainly not her cramped room back at the lab.
It doesn't take much to get Eddie agreeing to teach her everything he knows about being a witch- he's always been interested in humans and is immediately fascinated by the idea of one with powers. He just has no idea how much that decision will change his life.
(Or: Eddie experiences accidental human acquisition and receives karmic payback for driving his uncle crazy as he finds himself as an unwitting father figure to a party of chaotic teenagers. Somewhere along the way, he ends up in the middle of a rebellion against Emperor Vecna and finds that love really can bloom on the battlefield.)
