Tommy has always been able to see ghosts.
Usually, they stick around for a few days or weeks, maybe several months before they get what they need to move on. There was one ghost, however, who appeared when Tommy was young and seemed to be unable to get the closure he needed to let go and so he just… never left.
He got used to it, after a while, and Daniel became a consistent companion throughout his life.

“Because of Vulcan biology,” Eddie sighs, and seems to give in.
“Okay,” Steve says slowly, “But what–”
“Because of Vulcan sexual biology,” Eddie grits out, and puts his face back in his hands.
So he misses how Steve goes bright red, thankfully. Given how the tips of Eddie’s ears are a vibrant green, he’s in a similar situation.
“Oh, well,” Steve clears his throat. “No shame in that, Ensign,” god, he’s fallen back on rank now, if Eddie wasn’t so clearly a mess he would absolutely make sure that Steve never lived it down. He attempts a laugh, his mouth dry. “The birds and the bees do it, after all.”
“Fuck youuuu,” Eddie groans, parting his fingers to stare balefully at Steve. “The birds and bees aren’t Vulcans, Steve.”

"Well, apparently," Garak said, "Cardassia has lodged a formal request with the Federation for my extradition."
(Or: Garak has a problem. Julian marries him to fix it. Except that means Julian also has a problem, albeit of a very different kind.)

He stood at his guard post, and to the young and blissfully unaware eye of his charge, Achilles seemed nothing more than a dutiful servant. The once-man who placed a sword in the boy’s hand, who guided his arm, and tugged him in close when Lord Hades felt the urge to rage upon the boy for no good reason at all.
A good man, a patient man, a calm man. Loving, was how Zagreus would describe him.
Achilles was none of these things, and nor did he desire to be labeled as so.
(Or Achilles’ long years in the House of Hades. And the eventual ascent out of it.)

Lan Zhan looks so sad. He holds out his hand and says "Help."
"Aish, this man," Wei Wuxian sighs. "What's wrong?"
Lan Zhan holds out his hand a little further, insistent, and Wei Wuxian sighs again and takes it. A costly mistake that results in getting pulled deeper into Lan Zhan's apartment, squawking protests about how he's still wearing his shoes that Lan Zhan ignores. He leads Wei Wuxian down the hallway to the bedroom at the end. Then he shoves at Wei Wuxian's shoulder until he loses his balance and sits on the edge of the bed. Then he climbs on after him.
Thirteen years after he dies on New Year's Eve, Wei Wuxian is reunited with Lan Wangji.
