It’s poisonous skin; Aki knew that. But God, it was like nothing he’d ever felt before. It was smooth, plump, warm. It felt silk-spun, woven together by the finest threads from silkworm cocoons. That one point of contact was almost electric, almost as if the Angel Devil’s blood was made of molten gold. It was indescribably perfect: a pinch of honey in bitter tea, a cool breeze on a summer day, the crackle of a fireplace on a cool one.
Aki understands why God kept that shit under lock and key. If man got his grimy hands all over that skin, that might be the end for humanity. That skin could launch ships. Hell, it could start wars.
It was like cocaine, heroin, fentanyl. Every addictive substance Aki’s never tried.
Maybe that’s why he’s hesitant. Maybe he’s afraid that if he makes eye contact with that devil again, he won’t be able to hold himself back.
