Sure, he has black hair unlike the rest of his family, and his grassy green eyes may be a little too sensitive to the light of Helios, but that never made anybody, not even himself suspicious of who he might actually come from.
As the youngest Prince of Olympus, he takes it upon himself to attempt to fix his dysfunctional family. He is frequently indulged and welcomed as one of the few innocent souls on the great mountain. Unfortunately, such attention brings quite the terrifying deathless Chthonic Gods to look at what nobody else could see in him.

Summary
One day on the surface Zagreus receives his first ever prayer from a mortal, requesting his aid in the form of a boon.
The problem is, Zagreus has no idea how to answer it, and even worse, he can only hear the prayer while he is on the surface where his body is actively dying by the second.
Unable to think of anything better to do, he throws his body at the problem over and over, until one day he becomes desperate enough to defy death in the Overworld. This starts to cause problems for Thanatos’ work-life balance.
