    The liminal platform, white, sterile.

    Or in other words, an anomaly.

    It smells like nothing there, it feels like there’s nothing there…

    Like no one’s meant to exist there.

    But feelings are feelings for a reason, for that observation is incorrect.

    There is something here—not one thing, technically, many things. Two white vending machines devoid of numbers, a single water fountain, and an equally sterile bathroom.

    Nowhere comfortable to sleep, or entertainment to stimulate the human mind.

    And you bet no one talks about when the bathrooms lock for hours on end—when the lights go out and leave everything in muddy darkness—or when the vending machines run out...

    Because that’s not the real question is it?

    Two princes, one hidden one public. Yet, both suffering.

    Curses plague both their systems, playing with their anatomy and ability to live, causing suffering in such young minds.

    Yet in the world of nobles where curses aren’t new and being born plagued is enough reason to live in isolation.

    Innocence doesn’t mean anything when you’re a risk to others.

    And yet, through the cracks of such an unfair system two boys managed to find each other, something fragile and delicate blooming despite harsh environments.

    Will they actually make it in such a world? Well, they need to. Since god knows it’s not going to pretty if they can’t.
