Through a fluke of circumstance, she has obtained a tentative position as bodyguard to Andruil’s wife, the newest Evanuris Ghilan’nain, and it is all she can do to keep her head down and herself out of sight, and hope she will be forgotten about.
But things are changing in Arlathan; Mythal is raising her General to the ranks of the Evanuris, and Andruil and Ghilan’nain must entertain him in their home as all of Elvhenan celebrates his upcoming ascension. He arrives, barefaced and solemn, and so utterly unlike the Huntress and her Wife that the people are beginning to talk of what it means, to be raised so high.
Worst of all, this Wolf of Mythal looks at the one armed slave like he’s seen a ghost.
