“I did say, didn't I, my dear? That I had the perfect man for the job,” Aziraphale said, positively beaming.
“Not exactly a man last time I checked, angel. Not quite,” Crowley replied in a playful tone.
The angel cocked his head, “Yes, well. Not experienced with guns either, as it turns out,”
Or,

Summary
"Oh, Crowley." The angel takes a step further into the bookshop, words tumbling out in an unpractised rush. "I didn't even make it halfway up the lift before I realised what a terrible mistake I was making."
Crowley can feel Aziraphale's eyes on him. If he looks they'll be big and shiny and pleading, exquisitely beseeching in his regret. So he doesn't look. He's heard the words before, near enough. Seen the expression before, too. Fool him once, and all that.
