So instead he stays in on Friday nights and watches his favorite nature show from the couch while Lo’ak and Ao’nung pregame in the next room over.

during the monsoon season of pandora, the world becomes a beacon for danger. neteyam stumbles upon a sea na’vi pushed from home by the flooding and chooses to save him. however, when a metkayina has a debt to be paid it is done by life or blood.
for ao’nung his chosen price is life. a hand for a hand.
or the au where the metkayina are more sea monstrous than canon and neteyam receives a marriage proposal.
( you do not need to have seen the shape of water to read this, it was a catalyst for the idea, not a direct au! )
